StatSheet's MEAC Player of the Week for February 11th goes to Arnold Louis from Savannah State. StatSheet's MEAC Freshman of the Week is Deron Powers. Also, Ramon Mercado has taken StatSheet's MEAC 6th Man of the Week.

Louis was tops in the MEAC in scoring (20.0 pts per game). He also had a strong showing in shooting (50%) and rebounding (12.5 per game). The Savannah State senior put these numbers up in a victory against South Carolina State and a loss to Hampton.

Louis led all scoring and rebounding for the Tigers with 26 points and 10 rebounds in a 71-68 loss to Hampton. He followed that up with a team-leading 14 points and 15 rebounds in a narrow 50-46 win over South Carolina State.

This is the first time this season that Arnold Louis has been named StatSheet MEAC Player of the Week. The runner-up this week is Howard senior Mike Phillips. Honorable mention goes to North Carolina Central junior Jeremy Ingram. The highest ranking player from Hampton was Du`Vaughn Maxwell who finished 10th.

StatSheet MEAC Freshman of the Week: Hampton's Deron Powers

Deron Powers averaged 38 minutes of playing time while starting both games for Hampton. He led all MEAC freshmen in scoring (14.5 pts per game), assists (4.0 per game), and shooting (60.0%). In a 59-53 win over Coppin State, Powers topped the Pirates in scoring with 14 points and tossed in 5 assists. Following that in a thin 71-68 win against Savannah State, he led all scoring and rebounding, putting up 15 points and 8 rebounds.

Amazingly, Deron Powers has won the StatSheet MEAC Freshman of the Week 3 times. Rashid Gaston from Norfolk State gets runner-up. Our own Ke`Ron Brown takes honorable mention.

StatSheet MEAC 6th Man of the Week: Hampton's Ramon Mercado

Junior Ramon Mercado, a 6-4 reserve guard, averaged 28 minutes over the two games for the Pirates. In the win over Coppin State, Mercado put up 3 points and 4 rebounds. During the win over Savannah State, he racked up 10 points and 5 rebounds.

This is the first StatSheet MEAC 6th Man of the Week award for Ramon Mercado. Jarvoris Bryant, a senior forward from Bethune-Cookman, is the runner up. Muhammad Abdul-Aleem, a junior guard from Florida A&M, earns honorable mention. Hampton has yet to win StatSheet MEAC Player of the Week.
